UltraEdit for Mac General Discussion • Picking "New Window" from the app icon discarded all my opened tabs

In order to upgrade UE from 23.0.0.16 to 23.0.0.22 on my MacOS, I logged out from the old version. A simple restart normally keeps my opened file tabs, even if they were unsaved (named like Edit123.txt, etc.), so I felt safe not saving all the tabs. (I normally have dozens of them, storing various notes that are not worth saving them but worth keeping them open).

So, I exiting the app, and tried to reinstall the new version. There was a quick error message which disappeared before I could've read it but probably the installation has failed.

After this, in order to see whether the new version has been installed successfully or not, I clicked the UE icon in the Dock and selected "New Window". Normally I double click it but I expected them to be identical.

Yet, the new UE window has only one tab called Edit404 and the dozens of my old tabs have been gone. Moreover, the Ultraedit -> About dialog still shows the old version.

Is there any way how I could get my unsaved notes back?

I am keeping the app running so that the only opened tab Edit404 does not delete the potentially still existing old ones.

Please, help.
