Hello there,
I have been using UltraEdit for a while now; and I am really impressed with its versatility and power. Although; I have recently encountered a challenge that I could use some help with; and I believe the expertise in this forum might be just what I need.
I am working on a project that involves a proprietary scripting language that is not natively supported by UltraEdit. To enhance my coding experience and efficiency; I am looking to set up custom syntax highlighting for this language.
Define custom keywords; functions; and variables.
Apply distinct colors and styles to different elements, such as comments, strings, and operators.
Integrate this custom highlighting seamlessly with my existing configurations.
I have gone through the UltraEdit help documentation and tried experimenting with the wordfile.txt; but I am struggling to get the desired results. For instance; some of the keywords are not highlighting as expected; and certain operators are not being recognized correctly.
Could someone please guide me on the best practices for creating and managing custom syntax highlighting in UltraEdit?
Also, I have gone through this post; https://forums.ultraedit.com/how-to-change-syntax-highlighting-language-blue-prism-colors--t16910.html which definitely helped me out a lot.
If there are any common pitfalls or mistakes to avoid; sharing those insights would be very helpful. I am excited to learn and improve my setup, so any advice or resources you can provide would be invaluable.
Thankyou in advance for your help and assistance.
